Joanna Maning is a Sir Roland Wilson Scholar and PhD candidate supervised by Associate Professor Aino Suomi. Her PhD project is exploring cultural influences in gambling harm for people affected by another person’s gambling. The research aims to strengthen Australia’s public health response to gambling harm by informing the development of culturally responsive supports that can be translated into policy and service delivery.
Joanna brings a range of interests and experiences to this work, including over two decades in the Australian Public Service, her more recent work as a clinical psychologist, and her own intercultural lived experience.
